To say the footy gods did not smile on our club today would be something of an understatement. Our three teams in finals were all gallant, but ultimately defeated in thrilling contests.
Our Under 13 Boys led with literally a second remaining in their Prelim, the winning goal from North Hobart sailing through as the siren sounded.
Our Under 14 Boys led all day, only for North Hobart to draw level in the last quarter and force overtime and prove too strong.
And in the Under 16 Girls grand final, our girls hit the front in the last quarter, before eventually going down by 11 points.
Footy can be a cruel game, and it is hard not to be disappointed to lose finals in heartbreaking circumstances. But the club is making significant strides forward. There is a lot to be proud of, with five teams finishing in the top 3 this year. We will be back bigger and better next season.
Go Bay!

Your club certainly has a lot to be proud of. Back luck today but well played and congrats on the way you played today and this season. Absolutely brilliant to see our two junior clubs playing each other in finals. The future is looking great. Once again well played Lions! Craig Martin President North Hobart Football Club

Your under 13 boys should hold their heads high, a devastating lose but they all played a fantastic game. 3 cheers for Troy and his boys 😊
